Noisettes to Light Up Barnstaple's Winter Festival

Noisettes Noisettes in Barnstaple Noisettes to Switch on Barnstaple's Christmas Lights

Barnstaple Town Centre Management is delighted to announce a major coup in securing Noisettes to headline the town’s Christmas light switch on Sunday November 22, heralding the start of Barnstaple’s second annual Winter Festival. The trio are currently riding high on the back of the success of their second album ‘Wild Young Hearts’ which debuted at Number seven and has spent the last nine weeks in the UK top twenty album chart.

“We are really thrilled that they have agreed to come to Barnstaple”, said Craig Bulley, Town Centre Manager. “They are one of the most talked about bands of 2009 and noted for their explosive live shows. With UK top twenty singles ‘Never Forget You’ and the number two smash ‘Don’t Upset The Rhythm (Go Baby Go)’ which also enjoyed massive success Europe wide, it’s not surprising that they are getting rave reviews.”

Noisettes debut album in 2007, ‘What’s The Time Mr Wolf?’ also saw them draw critical acclaim in both the UK and the US and took them on tour for over a year, sharing arena stages with the likes of Muse.

Craig added, “With performances at the major festival this year already behind them including Glastonbury, V Festival and T in the Park, Barnstaple is in for a fantastic show. This week they have been nominated for a Q Award, with ‘Never Forget You’ shortlisted in the Best Track category, and I’ve no doubt they will gain many more fans when they appear on stage on The Square on Sunday November 22.

“In the lead up to the appearance of Noisettes we have the fabulous all girl band, The Dolly Rockers, whose debut single, ‘Gold Digger’, is out now, plus North Devon band, The Breaks Collective, Jenna Witts, Jaden Cornelius, North Devon Community Gospel Choir, the North Devon Gang Show, along with much more details of which will be announced closer to the day. Last year, The Saturdays drew a huge crowd, and everyone had a great time, this year promises to be bigger and better than ever. On behalf of Town Centre Management, I would really like to thanks all of our sponsors who support the winter festival, in particular our main sponsors for this year, Banburys and Toller Beattie Solicitors, two long established Barnstaple companies, for making this event possible.”
