Welcome to this years Barnstaple Winter Festival guide. In this guide you will find details of all the late nights and events planned for this festive season.

We hope we’ve have provided a fun festive programme with a little bit of something for everyone this year. With a wide range of events including of course the fantastic launch event on 22nd November featuring the awesome Noisettes as well as music, street entertainment and much more right across the festive period.

Before we go any further Barnstaple Town Centre Management wish to thank all the business that have supported our Christmas activities in particular our two main sponsors Toller Beattie Solicitors and Banburys Department Store. Our other supporters Green Lanes Shopping Centre, Stagecoach, M & E Alarms, North Devon Gazette, Prodrive, Brend Hotels Devon County Council, North Devon Council and Barnstaple Town Council join them. Without the support of these companies this festival programme would not have been possible.

We’d also like to thank Impact Media, EventRent & Duel Security for their support at the switch on event and M & E Alarms for their continued hard work and support installing the Christmas lights including our all-new High Street display this year. Finally Juice Advertising for their marketing support and all of those volunteers including Rotary, Roundtable, Lions, St Johns and many others for the help they so readily offer.

We are also delighted this year to partner up with the team from the North Devon Hospice as they celebrate their 25th anniversary and would remind you not forget your chance to win a car in their bumper draw with the winner being drawn live on stage on switch on day.

Finally we know this has been a challenging year but we hope you are able to continue to support our wonderful town with all that it has to offer and that our fantastic festival programme will enable you to really enjoy the festive season.

Once you’ve found that special Christmas gift why not take a break and enjoy some festive cheer in one of the many fantastic cafes and restaurants in the town. For those looking for some evening entertainment, choose from Barnstaple award winning independent cinema, a show or the panto at the Queens Theatre or spend the night with friends in one of Barnstaple many hostelries.

Don't forget to look out for Cinderella's magical glass slipper displayed in one of the town centre's shop windows from the 14th to the 22nd November. If you spot it enter the North Devon Theatres' competition and you could win a VIP family ticket to this year's pantomime, which runs at the Queen's Theatre from the 10th December to 3rd January. The cast of Cinderella will also provide street entertainment on switch on day with illusions from Britain's Got Talent star Merlin and the incredible pumpkin carriage!

All completed entries must be submitted to either the Queen’s Theatre box office or to the information point on The Square, on switch on day by no later than 4pm on 22nd November.

Parents who want to come into Barnstaple to pick up those last minute Christmas gifts but worry about juggling the choosing and buying of presents in front of their youngsters, will have their lives made a lot easier with a free children’s Art Crèche, organised by Barnstaple Town Management. Enjoy the ‘Spirit of Christmas' parade to kick start switch on day

Following a series of free workshops for children and young people held throughout November we have created two giant processional puppets depicting the Spirit of Christmas, these puppets will lead a Parade together with the Barnstaple Youth Marching Band and the Lampard Vachelle Samba band. The parade will feature schoolchildren from throughout the Barnstaple area who will also be participating by making masks in school to wear in the procession to ensure the parade is a true spectacle!'
