PROFILE OF ANDIGWA DANCE

Rebecca Jeffery founded Andigwa Dance in 2002. She has been teaching dance fitness and exercise for all ages since 1992 when she qualified as a fitness instructor. In 2013 she graduated from Plymouth University with a Dance Theatre (Honours) degree. She has been dancing since very young in Malawi, and then Zambia, Africa. She has learnt to dance from master teachers of South African, Congolese, and Nigerian dance. She has many years of flamenco and belly dance experience.  She specialises in African dance with the aim of teaching and learning about African culture through dance and music to bring about health fitness and happiness and lift people’s spirits in mind body and soul. All classes involve a warmup, a dance section and a fabulous cooldown to stretch, relax and meditate, leaving the session feeling uplifted. Classes also involve sharing her unique experience of dances which have been influenced by Africa such as salsa, samba as well as Belly dance and flamenco. She is available to be booked for performance and dance classes in the community and education.
