The centre charts the history of Fremington Quay from its importance to pottery and ceramics in the local area through to the present day. The quay was an important port along the Bristol Channel and saw exports of clay to many parts of Europe and across the Atlantic to Canada. The coming of the railways saw the quay as a man freight stop for many industries in North Devon. There are static displays as well as audio visual content. It’s a great place to spend time before popping into the cafe for tea and cake.
