The Gardeners Co. CIC is a female-founded community gardening project based in North Devon focusing on encouraging connection with nature through exploration of the garden run by Shannon, otherwise known as @diaryofaladygardener. Their mission is to give people of all ages the opportunities and confidence to give growing a go, inspiring a love of the natural environment whilst reaping the physical and mental benefits of engaging with the outdoors.
The project secured a new home within the Arlington Court National Trust estate at Home Farm in January 2024 where they have been growing a community-style garden with fruit, vegetables, flowers, mushrooms and microgreens ever since. Their workshops include Little Buds (under 5s, Wednesdays 9.30-11), Young Gardeners (home education, 4+, Thursdays 11-12.30) and the Lady Gardeners Club (over 16s, one Sunday per month) amongst others. The organisation also work in local schools supporting with their garden projects, and offer team building days for businesses, children’s birthday parties, hen parties and more!
