North Devon Council has partnered with the University of Plymouth (UoP) to launch a Creative Industries Mentoring Programme to connect young people with local professionals who can share their experience, knowledge and insight into the world of work.
Do you live and work in North Devon?
Do you work in the creative industries?
Are you passionate about supporting and inspiring the next generation?
If so, we’d love you to become a mentor.
Mentoring is a fantastic opportunity to share your career journey, offer practical advice and help a young person understand the opportunities available to them. Your experience could help raise their aspirations, build their confidence and give them the skills and knowledge they need to take their next steps. You only need to commit to a minimum of 4 sessions (only 4 hours) to be completed across the 6-month period. These meetings can be completed in-person or virtually and is entirely flexible to you and your mentee.
You don’t need to have all the answers or be an expert mentor. Your experiences, insights and career journey are valuable.
By becoming a mentor, you can:
Mentoring is about sharing what you know, listening, encouraging and helping someone take their next step.
You might be surprised by just how much your experience could mean to someone starting out.
