On the First Floor there are non-fiction books and computers which are free to use for up to two hours a day with printing, scanning and copying facilities.
Barnstaple Library is a friendly and vibrant space, open six days a week, incorporating our Local Studies Library, Business & Intellectual Property Centre (BIPC) and FabLab maker space. The Library boasts a large selection of books and audiobooks and a reserve stack of approximately 28,000 items which are available on request.
The Ground Floor houses adult fiction, audio books and the Children’s Library, with plenty of space to sit and read.

Located on the Second Floor, the North Devon Studies works alongside the North Devon Record Office and the North Devon Athenaeum to provide a comprehensive local studies and archive service for the North Devon and Torridge area.
Barnstaple Library organises a wide range of regular and one-off events for children and adults which are listed below and advertised on our social media platforms and in the library. In the Children’s Library there is a baby weigh facility, available whenever we are open.
On Friday mornings during term-time we have a fabulous pop-up café run by students from Pathfield School, serving a selection of drinks and delicious home-made cakes.
Barnstaple Library also has a range of high-quality meeting rooms available for hire at competitive rates. We are in a central location with nearby parking.
